Position Summary

This position will support the accounting, finance, and compliance functions of the Finance and Accounting department at Trout Unlimited. This includes assisting with the month-end close process, entering accounts receivable invoices, preparing coding for cash receipts entries, assisting in updating and maintaining the government grants management system, and locating and researching grants documentation. This position is located in Arlington, Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconcile various accounts receivable accounts
  • Prepare AR aging reports for management
  • Prepare monthly AR analysis report for the line of credit
  • Assist with researching unidentified cash receipts
  • Create grant billings in the accounting system
  • Create AR adjustments
  • Process fund transfers between projects in the accounting system
  • Maintain grants documentation in the grants management system
  • Generate reporting reminders for program managers
  • Assist with annual OMB Uniform Guidelines audit
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • One to three years of experience in accounting or finance responsibilities for federal grantee or contractor
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to manage large sets of data and multiple requests from staff
  • Excellent communication skills; customer service is a must
  • Discrete, confidential, team player
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Solomon or Sharepoint a plus
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, pivot tables
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
